I took students from Walpole High School on a trip to Taiwan organized jointly by Beyond Education and our school. Taiwan is a vibrant expression of 2,000 years of Chinese culture. It boasts stunning natural landscapes, modern and safe cities, well-educated citizens, ancient temples, lively night markets, and warm, friendly people. Beyond Education offers deep and meaningful experiences of these features in a uniquely thoughtful way that typical tour groups simply cannot match.

John has lived in Taiwan for over 30 years and knows the island’s geography better than 95% of the local population. This makes it possible to organize extraordinary activities such as overnight stays in indigenous villages, swimming with sea turtles along the coast, and harvesting tea in the high mountains.

Beyond Education also delves deeply into Taiwan’s culture. Students spend several nights with local families and are guided through cities by local student ambassadors. For students learning Chinese, this provides a fantastic opportunity to practice the language.

On a typical day, you might visit the National Palace Museum, stroll through downtown Taipei, join a nighttime lantern ceremony in the nearby hills, enjoy dumplings at a night market, and then rest in a comfortable hotel.
