Founded in 2013: An Educational Mission Starting from a U.S. Summer Camp

Beyond Education 創立於 2013 年夏天，一切從一場應家長邀請而生的美國夏令營開始。創辦人 John Stephenson 當時為一群來自中國上海的家庭，籌劃了一個幫助青少年接觸多元文化、培養自我挑戰能力的夏令營。這段旅程成為我們品牌的起點，從營隊出發，逐步拓展為一間跨文化的教育機構，深耕品格教育、國際教育交流與升學顧問服務。

Beyond Education was founded in the summer of 2013, beginning with a U.S. summer camp arranged at the invitation of parents. Founder John Stephenson organized a summer camp for a group of families from Shanghai, China, aimed at exposing teenagers to diverse cultures and cultivating their ability to challenge themselves. This journey marked the starting point of our brand, evolving from a camp into a cross-cultural educational institution specializing in character education, international educational exchange, and college counseling services.

我們的第一個美國暑期營隊在美國華盛頓州舉辦，至今仍持續運作，累積了十二年以上的實務經驗。營隊設計以探索、挑戰、團隊合作與自我認識為主軸，協助青少年在多元情境中建立正確價值觀。

這不只是一個戶外活動營隊，而是一個重視人格成長的教育場域。我們特別關注青少年在學校生活、人際關係、戀愛、成癮、自我價值等多重議題中所需的判斷力與自我決策力。這樣的深度品格課程，使我們的營隊在眾多美國暑期營隊中脫穎而出，成為家長與學生深度信賴的選擇。

 

Our first U.S. summer camp was held in Washington State and continues to operate to this day, accumulating over twelve years of practical experience. The camp focuses on exploration, challenge, teamwork, and self-awareness, helping teenagers develop correct values within diverse contexts.

This is not merely an outdoor activity camp but an educational environment emphasizing personal growth. We pay special attention to the judgment and decision-making skills teenagers need to navigate school life, relationships, dating, addiction, and self-worth. This profound character education differentiates our camp among many U.S. summer camps, earning deep trust from parents and students.

 

美國升學顧問服務：從實務經驗走向專業輔導

U.S. College Counseling Services: From Practical Experience to Professional Guidance

營隊結束後，許多學生與家長開始詢問關於美國升學的建議。我們聽見需求，開始深入研究並發展出專屬的美國升學顧問服務。自 2015 年起，Beyond Education 已協助超過 200 位學生進入美國、加拿大、英國等地的頂尖大學及高等教育機構。

也有學生選擇貿易學校、職業訓練課程或創新的預先職業方案，走上更符合個人興趣與未來職涯的道路。Beyond Education 的升學輔導強調「適性發展」，不僅僅看重排名或分數，更重視學生的內在動力與人生方向。

After the camp, many students and parents began seeking advice on U.S. college admissions. Hearing this demand, we started researching deeply and developed dedicated U.S. college counseling services. Since 2015, Beyond Education has helped more than 200 students gain admission to top universities and higher education institutions across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and elsewhere .

Some students choose trade schools, vocational training programs, or innovative pre-career pathways that better align with their interests and future careers. Beyond Education’s counseling emphasizes “suitability development,” focusing not only on rankings or scores but on students’ intrinsic motivation and life direction.

 

國際教育交流計畫：創造跨文化學習體驗

International Educational Exchange Programs: Creating Cross-Cultural Learning Experiences

 

除了升學顧問與營隊，我們也積極促進國際教育交流與參訪，引進國內外的高校、高中參訪與交流，連結世界各地的教育資源與台灣在地文化。我們曾促成：

• 屏東原住民部落與馬禮遜美國學校的文化合作
  
  
• 美國瓦巴什學院（Wabash College）合唱團來台巡演
  
  
• 與馬薩諸塞州瓦爾波爾高中（Walpole High School）合作設計台灣文化沉浸課程
  
  

這些交流活動不僅提升學生的文化理解能力，也開拓了國際視野，成為他們人生中重要的轉捩點。

 

In addition to college counseling and camps, we actively promote international educational exchanges and visits by facilitating domestic and overseas university and high school visits and exchanges, connecting global educational resources with local Taiwanese culture. We have facilitated:

• Cultural collaboration between the Pingtung Indigenous tribes and Morrison Academy in the U.S.
• Wabash College choir tour in Taiwan
• Collaboration with Walpole High School in Massachusetts to design a Taiwan cultural immersion course

These exchange activities not only enhance students’ cultural understanding but also broaden their international perspectives, marking important turning points in their lives.
